7:00 – 8:00 am Arrive at Pleasant Valley Community Center.

We will have shuttle trailers there to pick up all campers to transport them to the ranch (30 mins away).

Note: If you want to come in the night before and stay at the community center you can dry camp or hook up, $35/night. To reserve a hookup, click here or call (928) 462-3105.

 9:45 am – Opening Prayer and Orientation
10:00 am – Tack Review
11:00 am – Lunch
12:00 pm to 4:00 pm – Ranch work
4:00 pm – Unsaddle, feed, water
4:30 pm – Guest speaker
5:00 pm – Dinner
6:30 pm – Campfire/worship
9:00 pm – Lights out

Parents, please meet us at the Pleasant Valley Community Center and all campers will be shuttled there for parent pick-up.

What do I bring?

  • BIBLE
  • Pen/Pencil
  • Bedroll or sleeping bag, pillow (cots will be provided for each camper.)
  • Personal care items (soap, towel, etc.)
  • Clean clothes
  • Long-sleeved shirts, jeans (must wear while doing ranch work)
  • Western hat
  • Western boots
  • Rain gear
  • Horse (1), saddle, halter, ropes, chaps, and other necessary gear
  • Chaps (if you have them)
  • Hay and grain
  • Water bucket
  • Sandals and/or flip flops
  • Sunscreen
  • Pocket knife (blade 3.5 inches or shorter recommended)
  • Hydro-flask or water bottle
  • Medications with instructions (please see liability form)
  • Mark ALL belongings with your NAME

Do the camper’s stay overnight?

Yes, the campers do stay overnight.  We will be staying in tents along with counselors and instructors.

Can parents attend?

This year, because the ranch is so far away and hard to get to, we are having shuttles run from the parent pick-up. While parents are not discouraged to come because we are given such a short window of time with the campers be we want that time to be with only the instructors and counselors.

Check-in is between 7:00 am and 8 am on Friday, April 29

Buzzard Roost Ranch, Young, AZ

What is not allowed to bring?

  • NO DOGS
  • NO WEAPONS
  • NO TOBACCO
  • NO ALCOHOL
  • NO DRUGS

Cell phones will not work on the ranch. A satellite phone will be onsite for emergencies.
